Sergei Perelygin and Lindsay Webster were declared 2022 Spartan World Champions, after they mastered an all-new course in the Al Wathba desert to beat the most skilled obstacle course racing athletes from across the globe. Taking place at Al Wathba Luxury Collection Resort & Spa and organized in partnership with Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Spartan, the event saw a host of international athletes from more than 80 countries battle it out for the men’s and women’s individual World Championship Super vying for more than US$125,000 in prize money – this is only the second time in history when this event has taken place outside the United States.

After finishing the 10km race in 1 hour 3 minutes and 47 seconds, Sergei Perelygin won the Men’s Elite 2022 World Championship title. He finished second in last year’s race.
